The prominent feature in the room is the antique queen-size brass bed that is hand polished daily to keep its brilliance shining like new.
During WWII, the Arch Bishop of Canterbury, William Temple, had furnishings from his London Palace hidden away in the London Underground to be saved from the Nazi bombings. In the Spring of 1985, a few of these precious pieces found a new home in the Canterbury Room at the Pineapple Inn.
For those guests traveling with family members, the Canterbury Room and The Shoemaker Room are connected through the bathroom and a separate entrance located just past the stained-glass armoire.
Hidden behind a lace curtain, one of the Inn’s two antique clawfoot tubs awaits a guest seeking the joy of a relaxing hot bath.
